Storyteller. Songwriter. Author.
I write songs and share them with the world (a.k.a. YOU).
I am a singer/songwriter pursuing a dream that won't stop pursuing me. (Dreams are funny like that, aren't they?)
When I was younger, I used to love listening to music and mimicking performers. I remember singing into shampoo bottles in the bathroom mirror, after watching Whitney Houston perform at the Grammy's. I played flute in elementary school and in high school after joining choir I fell in love with vocal music. I also started writing poems and experimenting with adding melodies to the words.
I finally got my chance to see live performances up close when I started my first official job at 16. I begged my parents to let me usher at the Tweeter Center, an outdoor concert theatre. It would mean late nights on the weekdays and my parents picking me up, but the actually gave in. I remember watching acts like Dave Matthews Band, Pink, Jay-Z, Usher, Poison, and Jimmy Buffett just a few feet away from me in awe. That inspired me to start getting serious about writing songs.
I started college and put my music aspirations on hold, but always found myself returning back to songwriting constantly. I had thought about submitting songs and let fear just hold me up from doing it.
Some 12 years after watching those acts on stage, I have found my rhythm, deciding to fully realize my dream.
I believe that music connects to each other in such a powerful way. I write songs to encourage people to dig into their story and share it with the world. I believe everyone has a story that matters. I also believe that you don't need permission to live your story the way you want.
That's my story. I hope you enjoy my music and thank you for allowing me to share with you.
Peace and Blessings,
